I got into the 3rd wave of the NXE preview. Some time around 5 pm today I should be receiving the update and then I can install a game or two on the hard drive and check out the Netflix application. Should be pretty interesting.
The NXE (New Xbox Experience) is being opened up to some lucky people this Friday, but not me. Seems that while the promise of registering on the Microsoft Connect site and then registering for the NXE Preview program was supposed to be a pretty good bet to get in, it was not.
Looking at the forums it seems that if you are outside of the United States and even if you just have a silver account (read: not even a paid member of the service) then you get in. The people like me who have been on Xbox Live since the beginning (5 years and counting) well there are about 300 posts from people like me who didn’t get in.
The NXE is being released for everyone on November 19th.
You ever feel that sometimes they are just collecting your information when they do things like this? Or is that paranoid?
